Hi Guys, just wanted to say you guys rocked last night at the Bull & Butcher in Whetstone. We came to see "Popa Chubby" as we had met him 4 years ago on our honeymoon in La Reunion in the Indian Ocean. Jay, you play that Fender like a seasoned pro...no wonder Popa shouted out "cut his hands off"! You could give the likes of Gary Moore a run for his money, and if you carry on like that lets hope you make his sort of money! Well done guys.

Here is a review from Alan Dorey of forest FM radio after seeing Jay Tamkin band play at Stan Webbs gig @ The Tivoli Theatre
The current tour bowled into The Tivoli, Wimborne, this week - a fine old theatre that like Stan The Man - has been through a revival and is quite a spot to catch great bands and musicians on the touring circuit. Support was provided by the extremely promising Jay Tamkin & The Crackers, a three piece blues-rock band with more than a passing touch of Cream about them. Tamkin, a proud Devonian who's only 21, can sing and play blues guitar with the best of them. With some excellent self-penned material such as Troubles, Come On and Thief, the future looks bright - and I'm sure they'll acquit themselves well on a German tour where they're supporting the resurrected Spooky Tooth. ..................................................................................................................................................... Here is a review of the gig by Paul Stiles for BLUES IN BRITAIN
Wet and windy it may have been, but the faithful turned up to fill the theatre at the start of another season of Blues at the Limelight in Aylesbury. Jay Tamkin & The Crackers had driven up from Torbay to open the evening’s proceedings and open it they did, in style. With only a short time slot the three piece of Jay Tamkin (Fender Stratocaster and vocals), Pete Searle (Bass) and Nick Ramos Pinto (Drums) got straight into action with a Zappa-esque instrumental to get everybody warmed up. They then ripped through one of their own compositions “Trouble Maker”. CD plugs followed and they played three tracks from the “Live & Tetchy!!” album, which sold in large quantities later in the evening. They closed with their working of “Voodoo Chile”, also on the CD, which was very well received. You’ll find the boys opening for a number of well known names during 2008 and I recommend you get along to catch them in action. A recent development for the Blues Show is the number of artists keen to come to the studio to record Live sets. In recent months, we've welcomed Hamilton Loomis, Derrin Nauerndorf, Ian Parker, The Boogie Men, Brazilian Big Gilson, Sherman Robertson, Ian Siegal, Dave Arcari, The Spikedrivers, Rob Tognoni, Racing Cars, Aynsley Lister, Steve Arvey and Blue Traffic to our studio. We've now established contact with an Indie studio and had a Live session recorded there by Jay Tamkin, an incredibly talented performer from the South West just a few days ago. This session and the interview we recorded will feature on the show in a week or two but to give you a taster, we'll be playing one of the tracks on tonight's show. We were very impressed and so will you be!
Thanks Bob & Norm!

Jay Tamkin & The Crackers played Saturday & Sunday, what a great vibe & festival.
One of the comments from the festival..
"Just to say bravo! and roll on 2008. An excellent festival of fine live music in sympathetic surroundings. Performances as diverse as Guy Davis and Salsa Celtica really set the feeling of the festival. My wife and I really enjoyed all 3 days and did not hear a word of criticism (except that the Hamsters could have played for another hour or ten!). Out of the non headline acts we both felt that The Crackers were the best and deserve a spot on the main stage next year" The Crackers really enjoyed their time playing at The Boathouse & marquee, look forward to next year! Jays band, went back to play at The Boathouse, Ventnor I.O.W on the 24th November Thanks to everyone who came to see Jay Tamkin & The Crackers, & we really appreciated you coming out on a wet night, hope you enjoyed the blues played Jays style! see you soon. On Friday 12th October, Jay Tamkin & The Crackers supported .....
Ian Parker & his Band
@ The Robin 2 Bilston,Wolverhampton Box Office Tel 01902 401211 Tickets ADV £9 OTD £10
Ian Parker - 21st century blues man Expressed through a distinctive bitter-sweet vocal delivery and harrowing guitar work, Ian's songs hold nothing back. His ability and willingness to share with his audience, naked honesty and genuine emotion, is what sets him apart.
Drawing on an eclectic range of influences, this young man is fast becoming Britain's best loved blues/roots performer. A songwriter genuinely literate, sometimes almost literary, Ian is an original craftsman rooted in the blues but not trapped by any desire to replicate the past. He is without doubt a relevant contemporary blues man. http://www.ianparkermusic.com/What an awesome night opening for Ian Parker & his band, they are really friendly, Ians playing, & amazing voice captivated the audience, cheers guys!
